MEET THE SUFFERCITY GILBERT AZ TEAM

It’s one of our primary objectives to ensure that from the moment you walk in the door at Suffer City, we are the BEST part of your day. Our Team of professional administrators, trainers, and coaches work relentlessly to provide service at a curiously high level. If we’re not one step ahead of your next need then let any one of us know right away. We are here to serve!

Meet Our Admin Team

Julia Rogers

Julia is the operational heartbeat of Suffer City.

A trained physiotherapist and HYROX athlete, she blends clinical precision with real-world performance experience. She understands movement, recovery, and durability from both the treatment table and the race floor.

By day, she works as a physical therapist helping canines move and live better. When she’s not caring for your family’s favorite pet or training for her next race, she’s running Suffer City’s admin systems — keeping communication clear, operations tight, and the business running smoothly behind the scenes.

Suffer City functions at a higher level because Julia makes sure it does.

Molly Fratti

Molly is a steady force behind the scenes at Suffer City.

She’s a spin instructor, a HYROX and marathon athlete, and currently in school pursuing her certification as an ultrasound technician — which tells you everything you need to know about her drive and discipline.

Balancing school, training, and work, Molly brings focus, reliability, and a strong work ethic to everything she touches. From member support to daily operations, she’s skilled across all things Suffer City and plays a key role in keeping the machine moving forward.

Meet Our Training Team

Marcus Neal

Marcus brings rhythm, grit, and positive energy to every class he leads. His groove-driven sessions will make you sweat, push harder than you thought possible, and somehow still leave smiling.

His athletic résumé reflects that same range and durability. Marcus has completed two Pro Individual HYROX races, conquered the Sky Peaks Ultra Marathon, and is a regular Ragnar racer — a testament to both his endurance engine and mental toughness.

Outside the gym, he’s an inspiring father of three and a devoted leader within his faith community. On the floor, he blends competitive experience with encouragement, helping athletes find both their strength and their stride.

Joey Arella

Joey brings energy, depth, and precision to every class she leads.

With a kinesiology degree from Cal State East Bay and nearly a decade of coaching experience, her instruction is backed by strong science and real-world application. She holds certifications in personal training, nutrition, TRX specialization, and physique development — and she knows how to translate that knowledge into sessions that are both uplifting and demanding.

Joey is also a certified HYROX coach with numerous Pro individual and doubles races under her belt, giving her firsthand insight into high-level competition. Equal parts educator and motivator — and yes, a seasoned investigative docuseries observer — she delivers coaching that is informed, intentional, and high-powered.

Brian Butson

Brian, co-founder of Suffer City, has a long history of being an athlete as well as a Coach. He's Crossfit Level I & II certified while regularly competing in Crossfit competitions as well as other endurance events like Ragnar (2024 Ultra Team), Spartan, and Hyrox. He's a father of three young daughters and husband to his favorite training buddy, Jen; and when not coaching athletes to greatness, Brian can be found staring deeply into the mirror reminding himself how handsome he is.

Hannah Hepner

Hannah represents what Suffer City development looks like over time.

A longtime member turned trainer and coach, she has undergone a remarkable fitness transformation — evolving from committed participant to high-level HYROX competitor. Now a qualifier preparing for the HYROX World Championships, she balances elite training with earning high marks in business school at ASU.

As a coach, Hannah leads from experience. She understands the grind, the growth, and the process it takes to level up. Whether she’s guiding athletes through tough sessions or pushing her own limits on the race floor, she embodies discipline, consistency, and upward trajectory.

Jason France

Jason is the architect behind Suffer City’s training methodology.

A prior Force Recon Marine and Raider, he brings structure, discipline, and long-term performance thinking. As a HYROX athlete himself — currently preparing for the HYROX World Championships — beyond theory, he builds training from firsthand experience on the race floor.

As lead programmer and coach, Jason focuses on integrated development: aerobic base, strength foundation, intelligent volume, and race execution. His goal is simple — build durable, high-performing athletes who can train hard, recover well, and compete at their highest level.

Courtney France - Nutritionist

Courtney is a seasoned Suffer City coach and our in-house nutrition specialist, blending performance training with practical, sustainable nutrition strategies.

A mother of two young boys, she balances family life with maintaining a high level of personal athletic fitness. Whether she’s delivering world-class instruction on the floor, coaching members through nutrition optimization, or getting her boys to and from school, she operates with consistency and intention.

She’s also currently training as a HYROX World Championship qualifier — leading from the front and proving that high performance and real life can coexist.
